The brief was to deliver a :60 high-attitude Tip-Off anthem that matches or exceeds the energy of RTJ’s “Oh Mama”: grimy, big, hip-hop-driven-not trap-built for broadcast impact and with another gear available for the final act.
We proposed a rock-electronic hybrid engineered for scale and momentum: aggressive guitar motifs and tight, rhythmic live drums as the physical engine, reinforced by distorted low-end, punchy hits, and electronic layers to keep it modern and stadium-sized.
Structurally, we designed the cue as a controlled escalation-hook early, then incremental density and harmonic tension-so the edit can sit on a confident groove while still unlocking a final lift (extra percussion, synth pressure, and widened guitars) to land the peak moments.
The result is a bold, masculine, forward-driving track that reads “NBA is back” instantly, cuts cleanly for tags/lifts, and stays mix-friendly under VO and SFX.
